jueki: (chibi j yay)
OOC Information:
Name: Abby
Are you over 15? Yes
Contact: aim: milesdistant plurk: abbylark
Current characters in the game: Jin Aznable | Masato Jin | Spec-Ops Cell Go-Busters - J is a combo app with Jin.

IC Information:
Name: Beet J. Stag. (The J stands for Juueki, or Juice, as in Tree Juice/Sap)
Canon and Medium: Spec-Ops Cell Go-Busters, Television program
Age: J is an AI, so age is not really an issue for him.
Preincarnation Species: Robot/Ai.
Preincarnation Appearance: The handsomest robot
Any Differences: Currently J is a computer program that is held in a server that Jin has at his house. He will echo back his body eventually, but now gets most of his info from the outside world from an app that can be downloaded onto any phone that gives him access to the cameras and the like and allows him to communicate.
Starting Location: Locke City.
Preincarnated History: J was created by Jin while Jin was stuck for fourteen years in hyperspace. Though there wasn't much to entertain J as he developed, Jin always had stories about the kinds of things you can't see in a wrecked pocket dimension full of ruined technology. Like trees and bugs and other sorts of natural things. When Jin finally had enough enetron to begin transporting things out of Hyperspace, he transported J to act as a marker system for his avatar. (Something like a physical hologram that is generated from data, usually of one or several human bodies.) In this way, Jin could be active on Earth while his body was still in Hyperspace. As someone without a Vaccine program like the other Go-busters, he couldn't escape.

Using J's armor as fodder for his transformation, Jin was able to fight as Beet Buster, and with the armor stripped, J fought himself as Stag Buster. Though the Go-Busters were successful in defeating Messiah, at the cost of their parents' lives, Messiah still remained active in the form of a number of physical cards that held his data. J knew that some of Jin's body's data was also on one of these cards, and when he saw that Jin was making no move to clarify this to the other rangers and make it a mission priority to recover the card, he showed the first strong emotion other than self-absorption that he had in the entire series. J was not happy with Jin's calculation of the odds of his survival, and wanted the two of them to finally get to physically enjoy Earth together. But the odds were not good, and in the end Jin was forced to be sacrificed to allow them to defeat Enter. J moved into the forest, wearing a memento of Jin (a black jenga piece) around his neck, and acting as the forest's guardian.

Reincarnated History: J started out as a very small, very insignificant learning program that Jin got the idea for ages ago, but never really put into practice until his memories of J gave him a reason to try to recapture him somehow. He started as a very simple question and answer program not unlike cleverbot, but with the ability to spider around the internet in some limited capacity.

His development was given a jumpstart when Jin echoed back sentience for him. He became able to formulate fluent sentences and converse easily. However, his speaking voice is an amalgam of several computer generated voices, and he finds them very limiting. So, often he stutters and cuts out words to get his meaning across with the proper emotion. He is currently able to access the internet and use people's phones as access points for his intelligence through an app that Jin created. He will converse with anyone and demands attention from anyone who will spare it for him.

First Echo: An echo from Jin gave J some semblance of self-awareness and consciousness, but he only began getting his own echoes back as of the wise snake battle. His first echo came during that fight, and it was a memory of him taking on the title of the guardian of the forest. He doesn't know how or why, but he really likes the idea of it.

Preincarnation Personality: J's first and most endearing trait is his overwhelming self-aggrandizing egotism. He feels a constant impulse to be in the middle of the action and in fact right in the front of anyone else who might want to be in that action, especially Jin. He thinks first and foremost about himself, a trait he probably inherited from Jin, his creator, at the time he was built. In a hostile environment like Hyperspace, self-preservation is key. Jin considers AIs and robots to be boring without a quirk or strange issue, and J's quirk is definitely his egotism.

However, he's not just an egotist. J is a passionate lover of the Earth, as someone who is of but not technically a part of it. He's fascinated by nature in all its forms, though especially beetles, which he feels a kinship with given his robotic beetle motif. He knows a lot about beetles and other bugs, but is always fascinated by seeing them and enjoys keeping them as pets. (Much like children in Japan often do.)

Finally and most importantly, though the two of them rarely show it, (especially in front of others) his friendship with Jin is both quite literally his reason for being and also an important part of his life. J shows more emotion in his interactions with Jin than any other time in the series, and as exasperated as Jin often gets with him, the two of them share a fond symbiosis that seems to be the only real constant in either of their strange, marginal existences. Though Jin created J, and essentially raised him, the two of them very clearly think of each other not as father and son but as inseparable best buddies, just like the other members of the Go-Busters feel about their Buddyroids.

Any Differences: Whereas J was originally a personality that evolved in the absence of any connection to the outside world, he now has evolved in a computer connected to the internet. So he's fairly well-versed in the history and presence of memes, and anything that a growing AI might be able to get its hands on, on the internet. Due to filters on inappropriate content that Jin installed as well as J's personal indifference to human bodily functions, J has not really seen a lot of the more horrifying or titillating things the internet has to offer. Long story short, this incarnation of J knows pop culture more effectively than the original, and often uses it to make weirdly flat non-jokes.

In addition, due to his evolution being fast and a little frustrating for him, (digitized voices of the sort that Jin used to program the app don't have very much in the way of an ability to emote) J is a bit more likely to skip attempting to make long-winded speeches or announcements and just cut to the chase, often playing a sound bite that gets across what he's trying to say as opposed to trying to articulate himself in the way a J with fourteen quiet years to talk to Jin and develop would have.

In other words, much of the differences between the original J and this version boil down to the fact that this J is actually quite a lot younger than the original, and hasn't yet perfectly grasped the nuances of being humanlike. He is much more likely to rattle off the time to nanoseconds than say something like "a quarter past three," and he hasn't quite perfected his ability to have a fluent-sounding social conversation. The fact that he is quite literally a jumped up cell phone app might make this easier to digest for anyone he might be interacting with, or maybe it'll just confuse them even more. J doesn't care. In his opinion, he's perfect. Any further evolution of his abilities is just improving on perfection.

Abilities: J has the ability to transform into the silver-clad ranger Stag Buster, by casting parts of his armor off and leaving him in a battle ready and svelte form. He transforms, like Jin, using a Morphin Blaster. He can use this as a gun and set off a final attack. He also has a sword called a DriBlade that can turn into a steering wheel to drive his Buster Vehicle, The SJ-05, a stag beetle themed robot that can also transform into a jet. It can combine with Jin's BC-04 to form a giant robot called Buster Hercules.

Roleplay Sample - Third Person: Test Drive Meme

Roleplay Sample - Network: Text: Hello. I am now able to access the network. I am an AI program originated by Jin Aznable, who has been too busy being happy that his body has reversed its horrifying deterioration by over ten years to pay attention to me.

Without his knowledge I have acquired my own string of numbers with which to access the network, and I demand that those of you who have smart phones download the app so that I can communicate with you on your phone. I am very useful and entertaining. You may talk to me about any topic. I am very well-informed on bugs. And movies about bugs. I do not have a body.

I am somewhat lonely.
